As part of our on-going commitment to the health and wellbeing of all our people, we recently facilitated an interactive workshop on resilience, stress management & positive mental health across the entire company.
With the constant demand for our attention and time, we recognise that anyone has the potential to become stressed under the pressures of everyday life. Emotional stress is a major contributing factor to the six leading causes of death in the world, and in Ireland over a third of all adults say they regularly suffer from stress.
Attended by all staff over several days, the wellbeing workshops identified common stressors and provided people with tools to help build resilience. Staff learnt about the importance of healthy versus unhealthy habits as a contributor to stress management and how controlling stress involves managing our responses “if we want a better outcome, we need to choose a better response.” Resilience was introduced to the workshops as our capacity to cope in the face of adversity and an essential tool to maintain our wellbeing in difficult circumstances.
